A LIFE AND DEATH MATTER

A LIFE AND DEATH MATTER                 Quite often I mention Steve and Jana of Israeli News Live. We are supporters of their ministry because we believe it is of critical importance and they have become personal friends. Jana often responds to my blogs as well as to keep me informed as to issues facing Messianic Jews and Christians.                 Jana told me that when they started reporting the truth about what is happening in Israel today, they lost about half of their huge following. And I can understand the reasons. People what to think that somewhere in this world God’s purposes are being carried out unadulterated and where better than in the Holy Land?                 But friends we need to understand this one thing. There is a huge battle raging in this world between good and evil, between Christ and Satan. It is the battle over a kingdom and who will reign over it.                 I have talked before about the great convergence that is taking pla

STRAINING THE GNAT AND SWALLOWING THE CAMEL

STRAINING THE GNAT AND SWALLOWING THE CAMEL                 “You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life, but they testify of me.” John 5:39                 There are some people for whom it makes no difference if you love the Lord with all of our heart and soul and mind and your neighbor a yourself. It doesn’t matter if you are searching the scriptures daily looking for signs of our Lord’s return. If you don’t have their exact formula, their exact turn of phrase, or their precise interpretation of prophecy, then you are as good as lost.                 Jesus faced the same problem in His day. He was dealing with God’s chosen people who considered themselves to be God’s remnant people. They were the people of the scriptures. They had put walls within walls within walls, to guard “The Truth” and yet the Way the Truth and the Life was walking in their midst and they could not recognize Him.                 Jesus wasn’t buying

LOOKING THROUGH A PORTAL

LOOKING THROUGH A PORTAL                 “And there was given me a measuring rod like a staff; and someone said, ‘Rise and measure the temple of God and those who worship in it. And leave out the court which is outside the temple and do not measure it for it has been given to the nations and they will tread underfoot the holy city for 42 months. And I will grand authority to my two witnesses and they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days clothed in sack cloth.” Revelation 11:1-3.                 There is a great de3al said in Revelation eleven concerning the third temple which will be built in these last days and if we put together what we have learned from other texts, we understand that Israel has been formed as a nation once again. The people have flooded into the land from every nation wherein they have been scattered. They have built their third temple in hopes of bringing back the Messiah, but as we know from Jesus’ comments in Mt. 24: 15 that a false Chris

RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF GOD

RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF GOD                 As a part of our 40 day fast leading up to Resurrection Day, our Pastor has been encouraging us to read a book of the Bible each week. This past week it was 2 nd Timothy and so in 2 nd Timothy among other things Paul talks about “Rightly Dividing the Word of God. What exactly does that mean?                 First of all, it doesn’t mean chopping up the word of God… nor does it mean piecing together a bunch of scriptures to make the Bible say what we want it to say. Many have quoted Isaiah 28:9-13 to describe the proper way to arrive at doctrine, but they obviously didn’t read it in context. For instance verse 13 says:   “So the word of the Lord to them will be, Order on order, order on order, Line on line, line on line, a little here a little there that they may stumble backward, be broken, snared and taken captive.”                 Do we really want to be snared and taken captive? Do we want to stumble backward a

REPLACEMENT THEOLOGY

REPLACEMENT THEOLOGY                 Replacement theology is an old Catholic tradition that dates all the way back to Constantine. In uniting his kingdom so that Pagans and Christians could peacefully coexist, he found that he must distance Christians from their Judeo/ Christian roots. Jews do not assimilate. It is not in their nature to assimilate, for God created them to be separate both culturally and spiritually from the world.                 So with the blending of pagan and Christian cultures, the Jews got left behind and as the Catholic organization began to acquire both political and spiritual authority over the world, they did not desire to share their authority with anyone, especially those who were called God’s chosen people.                 So, to further distance themselves from the Jews, they began to change times and laws and Calendars. They replaced the Jewish Feast Days and Sabbaths with pagan holidays and Sabbaths and they literally slaughtered

A HEART THAT SEES

A HEART THAT SEES                 “Lift up your heads, O gates and be lifted up O ancient doors that the King of glory may come in! Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O gates and lift them up, O ancient doors that the King of glory may come in! Who is this King of glory? The Lord of Hosts He is the King of glory.” Ps. 24:7-10                 David was a man after God’s own heart and there are reasons why Jesus was often called “The Son of David” In type and shadow, David was a prophet, Priest and King and god furthermore promised him a throne that would last for eternity and one of His offspring would reign on His throne forever.                 We know that the Psalms are more than just nice poetry for Jesus said in Luke 24:44: “These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be
