WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS

WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS                 We are amazed and overwhelmed at the outpouring of love that our Messianic congregation has heaped upon us as we prepare to follow God’s lead to Tennessee. Rabbi and Ellie brought us up to the front and said many wonderful things way above our pay grade. Ellie gave Bonnie a beautiful bouquet of red roses and our refrigerator is now festooned with dozens of cards. In truth we have never found such love as we have found at Rehoboth.                 When we came to visit this Messianic congregation several years ago, we decided that we wanted to come to serve rather than to be served. For most of our marriage we had attended big churches where we could come and go largely unnoticed. We enjoyed the worship and the uplifting sermons in the big popular churches that had everything, but our hearts just weren’t in it. Something was missing.                 But right from the start the messianic worship and its people seemed different.

LIVING BY DIVINE APPOINTMENT

LIVING BY DIVINE APPOINTMENT                 There is an ancient Catholic doctrine that finds it roots all the way back to the time of Constantine. It states that God rejected Israel as a people in AD 70 and that the church became the new Israel. It stated basically that all of God’s promises to Israel had been conditional and that since Israel had rejected Yeshua and crucified Him, all bets were off and God had replaced Israel with the Gentile church. Now all of God’s blessings and promises had been conferred upon the church while Israel had been left for cannon fodder.                 This doctrine is known as “Replacement Theology” and it has been prevalent in the church and in many Protestant denominations for 1900 years. I grew up in such a denomination myself and it wasn’t until the last 6 to 8 years of personal Bible prophecy studies that a new understanding has begun to dawn upon me.                 First of all it came to my attention that the Spring Feasts of Isr

KING OF SALEM

KING OF SALEM                 “And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; now he was a priest of God Most High and he blessed him and said, ‘Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand” and he gave him a tenth of all.” Genesis 14:18-20                 Wait a minute! Hold the phone! Who is this Melchizedek and where did he get his credentials? How is it that he is a priest of the Most High God? Why did he serve bread and wine over a thousand years before Christ? And while we’re at it, how did Abram know to pay tithes to him? And again, how did Noah know clean animals from unclean animals when he brought 7 clean animals and only two unclean animals into the ark? Genesis 7.                 The wacky Bible scholars of higher criticism will try to tell you that Moses borrowed the concepts for his Jewish religion from the Egyptians, or some such hogwash. They convenie

CHRISTMAS MORNING

CHRISTMAS MORNING                 This morning we woke up to a white Christmas; something quite rare in the Portland/Vancouver area. Desi and I went for our morning walk as soon as it was light enough to see and we were amazed at all of the deer footprints lacing the property. We made a couple of circles around the driveway, (two loops making ¼ mile) and then Desi insisted on making the trek down to the main road and back.                 However the ice on the road was choppy and sharp and Desi was soon hobbling, so I picked him up and carried him back to the house. What a beautiful and peaceful morning it was… Desi and me and footprints in the snow.                 This white Christmas came as somewhat of a surprise and did not work out well for my sister Vicki. She had prepared a lovely Christmas Eve dinner for 13 guests none of which could make it on account of the snow and ice. So today Bonnie and I will go over and try to help, doing our valiant best to make up for a

THE SEED

This Seed was the living Word of God. He came to fulfill the promises of the Torah, the Word of God as gifted to a called out people by Moses. The promised Seed of Abraham had finally arrived; the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob had been born into the human race. Verified through the seed line of faith… traced for us through King David and on to the woman, this Seed Yeshua was the Son of Man                 But by the word of Gabriel, He was also conceived in this virgin woman by the Holy Spirit and as such He was also the Son of God. He came to be the living Word of God. To embrace Him was to embrace God. To embrace Him was to shatter the darkness of the matrix and to walk in a kingdom that was not of this world. To enter into His death is to die to the matrix. To be born again is to become a citizen of a new kingdom called “The Kingdom of God.”                 These two kingdoms have nothing in common. One is light, the other is darknes

STRANGER THAN FICTION

STRANGER THAN FICTION                 The people at Google are now in the process of combining the latest quantum technologies with robotic technologies, with artificial intelligence technologies in order to bring to us a new god. They claim that many people will quickly receive such a robot as their god and in fact they have named this new religion “the Way of the Future.”                 The reason that people will accept such a thing as their god is not surprising. As it is much of the world currently trusts science more than the Bible. They will gladly embrace for instance the theory of evolution even though it has never been proved or verified. But people will embrace anything that does not impose a moral and spiritual code upon them and this is exactly what science seeks to do…. to offer an amoral solution to life’s problems… and to hide us from the face of Him who sits upon the throne.                 We look at such a ridiculous thing as a robot that controls socie

THE ANATOMY OF WORSHIP

THE ANATOMY OF WORSHIP                 “Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 1 Cor. 3:16.                 In 1 Thess. 5:23 we are told that we are three part beings made up of spirit, soul and body. But of course the children of Israel have known that for over 3000 years, because the tabernacle of Moses was also a three part sanctuary demonstrating the three part nature of man, and of Christ and even of the heavens and the earth for that matter. Paul was caught up into the third heaven, so the earth is like the body, the second heaven corresponds to the mind or soul and the third heaven is the spirit or heavenly realm in which God dwells.                 David said it best when he said, “Thy way O Lord is in the sanctuary.” Not only man and heaven and earth are triune but God Himself is a triune God made up of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.                 Jesus said in John 4:24: “God is spirit and those who worship Him m
