WHAT DID JESUS DO FOR US ON THE CROSS?

WHAT JESUS DID FOR US ON THE CROSS                 From the day that Adam and Eve partook of the forbidden fruit, Satan became the god of this world and the father of humanity. When Jesus told the Pharisees that they were of their father the devil, He wasn’t necessarily singling them out. We all inherited a sin nature from Adam and Eve and so we are programmed to listen to Satan and to our fallen flesh much more than to God our Creator.                 So yes, we are sinners, but we are also victims of our sin nature and without a Deliverer, our situation is hopeless. Most of humanity is made up of those poor souls who are victims of their fallen nature. Some are better and some are worse, but they remain victims. But there is a part of society that actively seeks to know the deeper things of Satan and to worship Lucifer as their god.                 Such was the cult of Nimrod, when He started to strive to become one of the enlightened ones. He sought the hidden knowledge

THE WALK OF FAITH

THE WALK OF FAITH                 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him; for he that comes to God must believe that He is and that he is the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6                 The older I get, the more diligently I seek Him.   The older I get the less faith I have in myself and the more I place all of my trust in Him. I have seen the limitation of my flesh and if I have learned anything it is to not put any faith in what I can do, but to trust fully in His Spirit and His Word and His salvation without which none of us have any hope.                 As a watchman I am not seeking to argue doctrine or to convince people that my way is the only way. In dealing with the issues I am only providing a context into which I can pour out an impassioned plea to come out of the world system and into the arms of Yeshua.                 Those who are steeped in doctrine often times want to split hairs and to argue the fine points whil

THE DIVINE EXCHANGE

THE DIVINE EXCHANGE                 Why is the Law of God written largely in negative terms? Mostly it says “Don’t do this and don’t do that. Surely none of that would have made sense to Adam and Eve before the fall. The truth of the matter is that when Adam and Eve sinned, they changed. Adam and Eve had been created to be temples of the living God. He was the very life of their lives. They lived in communion with Him and there was no sense of separation or guilt or fear at His presence.                 Adam and Even had only one law in the garden and that was to avoid eating from one certain tree… the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Adam and Eve knew nothing of evil and God didn’t want them to know evil. So when Satan (the Nachash) tempted Eve he told her that they would become as gods knowing good and evil. In this part of his temptation he was actually telling the truth.                 We know he was telling the truth because God agreed with him on that point.

SABBATH REST

SABBATH REST                 In my article yesterday I spoke about a kind of divine rest of which the Sabbath day is but a symbol. It is the rest that we have in Christ as we trust in His works and not our own. And while the Sabbath is a symbol of that greater rest that was provided for us by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, it is nevertheless a formidable symbol. Instituted at creation and reiterated on Mt. Sinai, by the same Creator God who created everything in the first place, the Sabbath is a very part of the fabric of reality.                 Think of a wall that is infinitely high and deep and wide and thick. How do you get around it? Well, reality is just one of those things that you can’t get around and no matter how much you try to change truth, your changes will not in fact change the truth. Truth is reality and reality is truth and the more we align ourselves with it, the more sane and stable and well- founded our lives will be.                 In a

POWER REST

POWER REST                 Come let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker, for He is our God and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Today if you would hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as at Meribah, as in the day of Massah in the wilderness; when the fathers tested Me. They tried Me though they had seen My work.   For forty years I loathed that generation and said they are a people who err in their heart. Therefore I swore in my anger. Truly they shall not enter My rest. Psalm 95:6-11                 The children of Israel had seen God’s mighty works. The watched Him part the Red Sea. They had trembled at His power at Mt. Sinai. They had seen Him provide water from a rock. They had followed Him in the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night, and yet, when they came to the borders of the Promised Land the listened to the bad report of the 10 spies and hearing that there were giants in the land, they for

WHAT IF WE ARE WRONG?

WHAT IF WE ARE WRONG?                 What if we have misinterpreted some of the prophecies concerning the issues of these last days? How can we know and how can we change?                 As we approach the final days we need to learn everything we can about the first coming of Christ… who had it right and who had it   wrong… who missed it and why? None of us is guaranteed that we have all the pieces right and so above all, we must be in a right relationship with the Lord. Our salvation is not based upon a correct interpretation of Bible Prophecy, but on the saving life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and how we receive it by faith and apply it to our own lives.                 But there are things we can learn from Yeshua’s first coming that will help us to understand the last day issues better.      1. The Pharisees knew the Torah and the scripture well. Many of them had memorized large portions of scripture. 2. They were looking for the Messiah and even e

THE MAGOG INVASION

THE MAGOG INVASION                 QUESTION: Is the Magog invasion spoken of by Ezekiel past or future?                 ANSWER: the answer is yes.                 We know that the Ottoman Empire was defeated and wiped out a hundred years or so back and it was considered to be a major fulfillment of Bible prophecy for those who were living at that time. It was one of the proofs that we were in the end of days back then. In fact there was a blood moon and a meteor shower (stars falling) and what they called a “Dark Day” Known now to be a total eclipse of the sun. This all happened in the mid- 1800s and these things along with other signs stirred up a lot of excitement about the soon coming of Jesus.                 The Jewish sages say that prophecy is pattern and these patterns repeat over and over again throughout history. The biblical teaching is that these patterns, like birth pangs repeat over and over again while increasing in frequency and intensity until the final
