GEO-SYNCHRONICITY

GEO- SYNCHRONICITY                 We owned a nice little home in Vancouver Washington. We had paid cash for it and it was debt free. But after living there for maybe a year, the Lord told us to sell it and to move out to my sister’s property to help her take care of our aging mother. So we did as instructed and ended up living in a tiny loft apartment over a three car garage.                 But crammed in as we were, it was a place of beauty and rest, for our apartment faced a wooded area and we had chickens and a country environment.   I was able to help my brother in law with his manufacturing business that was on the property… we were able to help with upkeep around the property, to grow gardens and to help take care of Mom.                 Our years there were years of blessing and learning for us. It was there that we were led to Rehoboth, our Messianic Jewish fellowship, to become involved in making quilts for holocaust survivors and Bonnie sewed many little dresse

BLESSINGS

BLESSINGS                 Good morning everybody. Shabbat Shalom! Wow, this has been a busy week for me. On Thursday a bunch of us got together at the church to put together 288 food baskets for the needy. So the gym is full of bags of food. On Saturday at 09:00 the community people will que up starting at about 8:00 and it will be a very long line of people waiting for the doors to open. We let them in at a rate of about 35 or so at a time… serve a hot meal in the dining area… play worship songs as they eat… visit with them and pray for anyone needing prayer and then they go out to the gym and receive a wagon load of food.   We have young people help them out to their cars… engaging in conversation inviting them to church, praying with them, or whatever the need may be.                 We always have a tent or canopy set up outside where we can connect people with social services or job opportunities or other help. Our church puts one of these on every month and on Thursday

KNOWING WHAT TO WATCH FOR

KNOWING WHAT TO WATCH FOR                 “And so we have the prophetic word made more certain (sure) to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.”2 Peter 1:19                 Here in this text Peter equates the study of Bible prophecy with Christ arising in our hearts, or rather He offers the study of Bible prophecy as a means of having Christ arise in our hearts.                 But there is more to this story, for his statement is couched in a revelation that only he and James and John were privileged to see. Peter wants us to know something. Not all of the disciples were chosen to write books in the Bible, but the three that had this experience wrote extensively in the Bible… books that are foundational to our faith.                 Peter said in 2 Peter 1:16: “For we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Chr

WE ARE SURROUNDED

WE ARE SURROUNDED                 “Thus says the Lord God, “Behold I have gone and I will take the sons of Israel from among the nations where they have gone and I will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king will be king for all of them and they will no longer be two nations and they will no longer be divided into two kingdoms. And I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will place them and multiply them and will set My sanctuary in their midst forever. My dwelling place also will be with them; and I will be their God and they will be My people. And the nations will know that I am the Lord who sanctifies Israel when My sanctuary is in their midst forever.” Ez. 37:21-22, 26-28                 “After many days you will be summoned; in the latter years you will come into the land that is restored from the sword, who

PROPHETIC PARALLELS

PROPHETIC PARALLELS                 There are reasons why I refuse to be dogmatic about the rapture, for on one hand I find a picture of the pre-trib rapture in types and shadows and on the other hand, as I look at the book of Revelation I see three groups in heaven as seen in Revelation 7, 15 and 20. All of these have come out of great tribulation and the group in Rev. 20 has even been beheaded for their faith. In fact there e is only one group found in the book of Revelation that is not said to have come out of the tribulation and that is the 144,000 in Rev. 14.                 I also see the sickle harvest in Rev. 14 which occurs right before the wrath of God is poured out, and almost nobody wants to talk about that one.                 So most pre-trib rapture people attribute the rapture to Revelation 4 where an open door is seen in heaven and God says to John, “Come up here and I will show you what must take place after these things.” After what things?    After the

WHAT IS REVIVAL?

WHAT IS REVIVAL?                 We had a guest speaker at our church last night. He is one of the general overseers of the Church of God and he came to speak at our homecoming. We were celebrating 70 years as a local church here in Clinton Tennessee which is the same amount of time that Israel has been in their land. There is a feeling in the air that something is about to happen. Our nation has never been more vulnerable than it is right now. America teeters on a narrow fulcrum point between judgment and repentance. What will it be?                 Churches across America should been repenting and crying out for a revival of faith and godliness and a turning of the tide in our land. (And there are a few who are doing just that.) But unfortunately most Christians seem to have no idea concerning our situation. Many are playing church as usual even as our fate hangs in the balances.                 In many ways, America sits as a queen who has need of nothing. Like the nati

WALKING THE WALK

WALKING THE WALK Only speak when spoken through…Only do what He tells you to do Only go where He tells you to go…And He will let you know what you need to know                 I have always had a certain amount of the gift of gab. Growing up on stage as I did, you could throw me into an awkward moment in a program and I could usually say something and not just something, but something that brought all of the loose ends together and returned the program to cogency. And while our gifts and talents certainly come from God, and God can even speak through a donkey when He needs to, I find myself these days deeply desiring an entirely different realm of communication. I want to be spoken through. That is to say, I want the Holy Spirit to speak through me, as unhindered by the flesh as much as possible.                 You know this is not as wild a desire as you might think, for this is exactly what Jesus made possible for every believer when the veil between flesh and spirit
