DIVINE HEALING
DIVINE HEALING
THE
CHRISTIAN DECLARATION OF FAITH SAYS THIS FOR # 11
“Divine
healing is provided for all in the Atonement.”
Well,
we can argue one way or the other about whether divine healing still occurs. To
be brutally honest, it doesn’t happen nearly as much as we would like, and yet
we pray for the sick at church and a certain percentage of the people are
miraculously healed; while some recover through medical treatment; while others
go on to meet their Maker.
The early
church didn’t have a perfect record for you read of various early Christians
who were sick. And for that matter Jesus didn’t heal everyone in every town He
went to and it is stated that it was largely because of a lack of faith in some
towns, especially His hometown, that not many were healed.
Jesus
lived by divine appointment, which meant that at the pool of Bethesda, He
healed one man out of the many that were gathered there and we wonder why the
rest of the people were not crying out to Jesus to heal them too. But the truth
is we can’t simply say that divine healing is 100% and since it is rarer now
than it was at the time of Pentecost we have to ask ourselves this question:
Is it
because divine healing ended with the apostles, or has the church gradually
fallen away from its supernatural existence? I say it is the latter and I also
say that we in the final generation are being called upon to fast and to pray
and to seek God for all that has been lost to the New Covenant by our falling
away from God’s supernatural intentions. After all, Satan is going to appear as
an angel of light in the last days. The antichrist is going to pose as the god
of the New World Order and we, like Moses, need to have the supernatural power
of God in order to match and to supersede the works of the devil in these last
days.
Paul
made it abundantly clear as to the church’s role in the world when he said:
“For I
determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. And
I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling. And my message
and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration
of the Spirit and of power that your faith should not rest on the wisdom of
men, but on the power of God.” 1 Cor. 2:2-5
So ask yourself this question: “Do I go to
church to hear the wisdom of men or to witness and to be a part of a
demonstration of the power of God?
Your
answer to that question will determine how far your church has fallen from God’s
supernatural intentions for the Body of Christ and believe me, even the best of
believers need to be crying out to God for something that is largely missing
from the church today. The church has become carnal and mixed with the world
and to that extent we have also lost the power that once attended the Gospel. For
Jesus clearly stated concerning His true Body:
that “these signs will accompany those who have believed. They will cast
out demons. They will speak with new tongues. They will not be harmed by
serpents or poison or anything by which men try to destroy them and they will
lay hands on the sick and they will recover.” Mark 16:16-18
In many
third world countries where their faith is simple and they come to Christ
having been delivered from demons, divine healing is much more prevalent. Gospel
preachers, like Reinhardt Bonke, preach to millions in Africa and millions are
healed and they throw away their crutches and leap and dance with rejoicing in
the streets. But in many ways, we in America have become too sophisticated… too
dependent upon the wisdom of men and upon the medical field. Unlike many
Africans, we have something to fall back on, just in case God doesn’t choose to
heal us. We have the wisdom of men.
But I
believe that the world is coming into a situation, when Christians and other
disenfranchised people will be locked out of the system and medical treatment
will no longer be available to us. This time is much, much closer than most of
us think and if we really knew the situation that we are entering into, we
would be on our knees searching the heart of God for a deeper salvation… a
stronger faith and greater power to preach the Gospel the way Paul did… with a
demonstration of the power of God.
And it
won’t be for entertainment as much of it has been made to appear on our TV
screens. It will be out of necessity. And like Jesus, we may be telling those
we heal not to tell anybody and so the gospel in the end times will be preached
in whispered tones and it will spread like wildfire. There will be no TV heroes
in this final move of God… but common people filled with the Holy Spirit and
fire.
And it
will not be held in huge stadiums as many of the “false “ Prophets are saying
today, for as we are seeing, the huge crowds and the big money is going to a
false revival in which the signs and symbols of the New World Order are prominently
on display. You had better be watching for it because even some of the big
worship fests we see on TV or You Tube display the signs and symbols of the
coming global religion of the beast and not the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Millions
of Christians are going to be deceived. Millions are going to fall away and to
join the ranks of the global religion of the Beast. It is happening right
before our eyes and I can tell you this. You had better get a firm hold on
Jesus and upon His unadulterated Word and hold to them with a tenacious grip. The
great delusions that the Bible speaks about are well under way.
So in
closing I will paint a picture for you of that which we are now witnessing as
it unfolds upon the canvas of history:
Speaking
of the rapture Paul had this to say: “Let no one in any way deceive you, for it
will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness is
revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every
so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of
God, displaying himself as being God… for the mystery of lawlessness is already
at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way,
and then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the
breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; that
is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with power
and signs and false wonders and with all deception of wickedness for those who
perish, BECAUSE THEY DID NOT RECEIVE THE LOVE OF THE TRUTH SO AS TO BE SAVED.
And FOR THIS REASON, GOD WILL SEND UPON THEM A DELUDING INFLUENCE (STRONG
DELUSION) SO THAT THEY MIGHT BELIEVE WHAT IS FALSE IN ORDER THAT THEY MAY BE
JUDGED WHO DID NOT BELIEVE THE TRUTH, BUT TOOK PLEASURE IN WICKEDNESS.” 2 Thess.
2:3, 4, 7-11.
This is
why I have been sharing with you the Christian declarations of faith. These
declarations are not slanted toward any particular denomination, but they are the
statements of faith that have been with the Body of Christ since the day of
Pentecost. We had better know them and know them well, because as Paul tells us
here, many will fall away because they have not received a love of the truth so
as to be saved.
For one
reason or another, these declarations of faith have not been a very popular
teaching and yet I find them absolutely vital to our survival. It is absolutely
stunning and shocking to see how far the church has fallen as they openly
renounce the Gospel once offered to the saints and they embrace the evil faith
of the New world Order which allows people to please their flesh in every way imaginable.
If we want
to be among God’s Remnant people, then we must stand upon the Word of God and
live by the Spirit of God (not the feel good spirit of this world that
tolerates and even embraces sin, but the Spirit that convicts us concerning sin
and righteousness and opens up the Word to our understanding.) Jn. 14:23-26,
Jn. 16:7-14
