PROPHESIES WE MISS
PROPHECIES WE MISS
“Come;
let us return to the Lord. For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has
wounded us, but He will bandage us. He will revive us after two days; He will
raise us up on the third day that we may live before Him. So let us know, let
us press on to know the Lord; His going forth is as certain as the dawn; and He
will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain watering the earth.” Hosea
6:1-3
If you
look up the word “Third” in your Strong’s you will be amazed at how many things
happen on the third day. The biggest event of course was when Jesus rose from the
dead on the third day, but if we look at the Bible with a prophetic pair of
glasses we find a huge amount of prophetic symbolism in types and shadows that
tune us in to our Lord’s plans and purposes. Let’s take John chapter 2 as an
example.
“ And
on the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee and the mother of Jesus
was there; and Jesus also was invited, and His disciples to the wedding. And when
the wine gave out, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.” And
Jesus said to her, “Woman, what do I have to do with you? My hour has not yet
come.” His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.” Now there were six stone water pots set there
for the Jewish custom of purification, containing twenty or thirty gallons each.
Jesus said to them, “Fill the water pots with water and they filled them up to
the brim. And He said to them, “ Draw some out now and take it to the head
waiter” And they took it to him and when the head waiter tasted the water which
had become wine, and did not know where it came from,( but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the head
waiter called the bridegroom and said to him, Every man serves the good wine
first, and when men have drunk freely, then that which is poorer; you have kept
the good wine until now.” John 2:1-10
So we have a sequence of events
here. First of all it tells us that this was the third day. The third day after
what? Well, as we look back into the previous
chapter, we see that it was on the third day after Jesus had been baptized by John
in the Jordon River, after which He also received the baptism of the Holy
Spirit in the form of a dove, and declared as the Son of God by the Father’s
voice from heaven.
On the second
day He called His disciples and on the third day they attended a wedding feast.
Here we see a picture of the church, being baptized in water for the remission
of sins and then being filled with the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost and
then after 2 days (2000 years) we will enjoy the marriage of the Lamb to His
Bride. But there is more. There were 6 stone pots. (Six is the number of man,
who by nature has a heart of stone.) Jesus had the servants fill these stone
pots with water. (Water represents the Holy Spirit.) And it
says that the servants filled these stone pots to the brim, to the very top. So
when the water, which has now turned to wine, is taken to the bridegroom, he
comments that the best wine has been saved for the last.
Now we
must observe several things about this story. The stone pots were first filled
to the brim with water, representing the Holy Spirit. These pots held 20 or 30
gallons each, so Jesus supplied the guests who had already had wine to drink,
with somewhere between 120 and 180 gallons of wine. Water gives life, but wine
makes you drunk and if you have an abundance of wine, it will change you. It
will change the way you walk and the way you talk and you will begin to feel
love for each other that normal inhibitions would hold in reserve. You will
party a little louder and express joy a little louder and you will stop caring
what is happening in the rest of the world for now the wedding feast will
become everything.
In other
words, we received the Holy Spirit (water) at Pentecost, but on the third day
that water is going to turn into wine and it will fill us to the brim and it
will take us over and change the way we walk and the way we talk. It will
restore to us the brotherly love that has been cooped up by our self-conscious
reserve and we will come to a place where the marriage to the Lamb will be our
only focus.
The
stone pitchers had been used for purification and so the wedding guests, having
first been purified were now ready to partake of the new wine that will be
served at the last.
If we
don’t have prophetic minds, we tend to read these stories as just stories in the
life of Jesus and we don’t see the great pictures of truth that are being
served to us.
We are
now approaching the third day. We have lived for 2 days on the wine of
Pentecost, which Paul tells us in 2 Cor. 5: 5 was given to us as an earnest, or
a pledge of greater things to come.
So the
great harvest at the end of the age is going to be attended with an anointing
of the Holy Spirit that is said to be seven times greater than Pentecost.
Pentecost was given to purify us and to equip us for service, but when that greater
anointing falls near the advent of the wedding feast of the Lamb, then it will
intoxicate us with God’s presence. It will change the way we walk and talk and
act. It will change the way we love and it will cause our focus to be on only
one thing… the return of our Bridegroom.
Shortly
before Jesus returns it will appear that we have run out of wine. Our churches seem
to be mostly dead. There is a blanket of lethargy over the people. Only a few
are able to break through this heavy fog that keeps us in mundane routines with
little hope of revival. But like the head waiters at the feast, we must seek the
Lord, for at the appointed time, He will do as He has promised and He will fill
us to the very brim and He will turn our water into wine and there will be an
overabundance of wine.
“For
these men are not drunk as you suppose, for it is only the THIRD hour of the
day: “There is that word “Third” again and with it the promise of the Father.
“… but this
is what is spoken through the prophet Joel: “And it shall be in the last days,”
God says, “That I will pour forth of My Spirit upon all mankind, and your sons
and your daughters shall prophesy and your old men shall dream dreams; even
upon My bond slaves, both men and women I will in those days pour forth of My
Spirit and they shall prophesy.”
Now up
to this point Peter has been talking about the first Pentecost, but from this
point on he begins to list things that did not happen on that day saying: “And
I will grant wonders in the sky above and
signs on earth beneath, blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be
turned into darkness and the moon into blood BEFORE the great and glorious day
of the Lord shall come. And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of
the Lord shall be saved.
Here we
have a picture of the conditions that will exist on earth when the last
Pentecost is poured out. It is the great harvest at the end of the age and I
want to ask you something: Should we really ignore the signs in the sun, moon and
stars that we have been witnessing over the past few months and years? Many of
these signs will not happen again for 100 years, if ever. Some of them; like
the Revelation 12 sign has never happened and will not happen again. The star
of Bethlehem just showed up for the first time in 2000 years and probably won’t
appear again for another 2000 years.
Is it
any coincidence that God has raised up the Messianic movement at this very time
to make the church aware of God’s appointed feasts? No… everything in Bible
prophecy is patterned after the Feasts and we need to know and understand what
God is doing in our world today. We tend to get all involved in the politics of
things, and if we like the president or not, or how things are going in the
world, but it is far more important to understand God’s agenda and to trust Him
with the details, because He is certainly in control and Bible prophecy is
going to unfold exactly as He has pronounced it.
Our
part is not to worry about God’s part, but to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom and
when we have done that, the end will come.
I can’t
tell you how much time we have left. To me it appears that we are entering into
a period of time called the “Great Shaking, as mentioned in Hebrews 12:25-29. For
instance: God has called America to be a sheep nation and He gave us two
missions. One is to take the Gospel into the entire world and the second was to
protect Israel.
The last
five presidents have carried America down a failed road toward global
government and as a final act or number of acts of rebellion, we embraced
abortion, gay marriage and we abandoned Israel and if Hillary would have made
president, our nation would have been overtaken by the Jezebel spirit and we
would have been handed over to the globalists lock, stock and barrel. I can say
that because the Clintons are part and parcel of the New World Order along with
its morality, its Luciferian worship, its demon spirits and its antichristian
agenda.
Whether
you like Donald Trump or you don’t, God needed a “bull in the china closet” to
turn things around and to rescue us, if only momentarily, from certain
destruction. It required far more that the normal insipid politics of Washington
to turn things around. I say that realizing that God may have chosen to fulfill
both good and bad prophecies. But in the process God has saved America as a
sheep nation by restoring our position with Israel. And there are plenty of precedencies
set in the Bible where God used unexpected people to carry out His purposes.
Sin is
going to be exposed in the church as well as in our nation and there will be a
great draining of eth swamp in the religious world as well as the political
world. Many religious institutions will
bite the dust in days and months to come for they are failing to preach the Gospel
or to warn the people. Nor do they any longer preach a message of repentance, and
forgiveness by the blood of Jesus, or death to self so that we might live fully
unto God. They now preach a Gospel of convenience and half measures.
So, we
who aspire to be among God’s Remnant must pray that God will purify our hearts
with the Holy Spirit and fire and the washing and regeneration of the Word and we
must then begin to pray that these stone pots, these human vessels will be
filled to the brim with the Holy Spirit and that water turned into wine so that
it will begin to change the way we walk and talk and the way we love and to bring us into the intimacy of relationship
that will prepares us as a Bride adorned for Her Husband.
