A CONVERSATION WITH THE LORD
CONVERSATION WITH THE LORD
After I
got back from my early morning walk with Desi, I entered into a conversation
with the Lord. I often keep a notebook on hand to write down these
conversations to see if the Lord might be speaking something into my spirit. If
so I want to remember it. So I will leave it up to you to decide if anything
written here is from the Holy Spirit or if it is just my own imagination.
I can
say this: If we really believe that prayer is a two-way conversation with the Lord,
then we should be able to learn something from our time with Him. (Isa. 30:21)Please
bear in mind that I am not talking about my own congregation here, nor am I
speaking of one church, but a composite of churches visited over the years.
Good
morning Lord. This morning I feel a bit drained spiritually. I don’t like to be
judgmental of Your people, but in the spiritual realm it is as though we can
sense and discern things that can be troubling. No matter how friendly some people
may be, there is nevertheless a sense of emptiness, like they are sheep without
a shepherd. And some pastors, no matter how eloquent and polished are their
words, they seem to come from his mind only and not from the Holy Spirit.
Many churches
live in a Laodicean culture. They have no knowledge as to how to access My
Spirit. Therefore truly Spirit filled people are rare among them. Most depend
upon talent and intellect. My Rhema (Holy Spirit quickened) Word is not in them.
There is no fresh revelation… no comprehension of the times… no spirit of
intercession.
I can
feel it Lord. It is as if my spiritual batteries have been drained somehow. It
is like being shoved out into the outer court and having to pray my way back
into Your presence again.
Come
unto Me Rick. Cry out for a fresh outpouring from Me. Do not be satisfied with
just enough to get by. Cry out to Me. Cry out for My vision for you. Cry out
for the sheep without a Shepherd. Cry out for the sheep that are within your
realm of influence. The world is growing cold. Many churches are growing cold.
You sense the emptiness, the severed connection… the desperate prayers of a
people whose prayers no longer to reach heaven.
It is the
great falling away and My people are being sucked into its vortex. I need
intercessors to stand in the gap… to be repairers of the breech… to shout aloud…
to warn the people of the great black hole into which they are being pulled.
Does
this mean that you will anoint us with a spirit of intercession Lord Jesus? We
hunger for it Lord. Even within my own spirit it is as though I only gain
glimpses of the Most Holy Place. I see its golden light. My heart within me
cries out for Your unveiled presence. It’s not just for me Lord. It is also for
those whom You have drawn into my circle of friends. Lord, I want to feed them
with the breath of heaven. I am not satisfied with my words. I want words that
come directly from Your throne. How could I settle for anything less?
My
people have no idea how desperately short and rapid are the hours that remain.
If they knew, they would be praying such prayers right now. They are about to
see darkness cover the earth and gross darkness the people. What little bit of
fire they have in their hearts will be all but snuffed out. Most do not know
how to fan the flames of revival within their own souls. The art of
intercession has been all but lost. Most have been overwhelmed with their own
self-centered concerns.
What
can we do Lord? How can we turn this downward slide around?
I am
doing a new thing in the world and I know that you understand this. The nations
have been progressively sliding into a deeper Laodicean condition and the church
with them. In answer to this My judgments have been falling upon the earth in a
new and protracted way since about 2004. But with the blood moons of 2014 and
2015, followed by a total eclipse of the sun in 2017, the world has more
specifically entered into the time described in Revelation 12.
The
sun, moon and stars have now all spoken announcing My appointed times. The hour
of My judgment has come. It will come in ever increasing waves. The earth will
reel to and fro like a drunkard. There will be fearful sights and signs in the heavens
and on the earth there will be a great shaking of the nations. Insurance
companies and indeed the Federal government will eventually go broke beyond
that which they can cover with fiat currency. Natural and other disasters will
continue to increase until My people fall on their knees and cry out for Me…
for deliverance.
Events
are soon to transpire that will shake the nations to the core. What they have
begun to do in pride and arrogance will quickly spiral out of control. The righteous
will see My hand in it and run to the secret place of the Most High. The wicked
will set their course upon a human solution in defiance of God Almighty. The entire
world will be polarized into two groups… the Remnant of My Kingdom, verses
Satan’s great global cabal.
Lord,
there are things being warned about on a global basis. In my 55 years of
prophetic study I have never seen anything like this. People in the News Media
treat each of these events as if isolated. They treat them (purposely I think)
as if they have no greater meaning than the repeating of earth cycles.
Personally I think the Holy Spirit bears witness to the fact that these events
are not isolated, but rather represent a convergence of mental, moral, spiritual,
political and natural events that are carrying us into the final apocalyptic prophecies
that will usher in Your Kingdom.
That’s
true Rick. You have indeed entered into the time of the great shaking and the harvest,
for just as trees are shaken to release their fruits and nuts, so I will shake once
again the heaven and the earth so that all which can be shaken will be shaken.
This
represents a mixed metaphor, for in this case the fruit which will be shaken
out will be the fruit of unrighteousness, so that which remains will be a part
of My kingdom. (Heb. 12:26-29)
And so this
ended this morning’s conversation with the Lord. Even if it is nothing more
than my own imagination that created this conversation, there is something you
need to consider. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. His Spirit is
married, so to speak, to our born again spirit and it is His life- giving
presence in us that keeps our spirit eternally alive. And if His Holy Spirit
dwells within us, should we not expect to hear from Him? (I invite you to
carefully read 1Cor. 2:6-16)
“Yet
when I am among mature Christians I do speak with words of wisdom, but not the kind
of wisdom that belongs to this world, and not the kind that appeals to the rulers
of this world, who are being brought to nothing. No, the wisdom we speak of is the
secret wisdom of God, which was hidden in former times, though he made it for
our benefit before the world began. But the rulers of this world have not
understood it; if they had, they would never have crucified our glorious Lord. That
is what the Scriptures mean when they say, ‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard
and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.’ But we
know these things because God has revealed them to us by His Spirit, and His
Spirit searches out everything and shows us even God’s deep secrets.”
“No one
can know what anyone else is really thinking except that person alone and no
one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. And God has actually given
us His Spirit (not the world’s spirit) so we can know the wonderful things God
has freely given us. When we tell you this, we do not use words of human
wisdom. We speak words given us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to
explain spiritual truths. But people who aren’t Christians can’t understand these
truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them because only those who
have the Spirit can understand what the Spirit means. “
“We who
have the Spirit understand these things, but others can’t understand us at all.
How could they? For ‘Who can know what the Lord is thinking? Who can give him
counsel?’ But we can understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.”
1 Cor. 2:6-16
The
Bible writers all learned how to hear and to recognize the voice of God in
their lives. Jesus was guided by everything He heard the Father saying and
everything He saw the Father doing and He told us to do the same. IN this He served as our example. Every true
believer can hear God’s voice if it is not drowned out by the cares of this
world.
The disciples were guided similarly by the Holy Spirit and when Jesus, in giving His messages to the seven churches said to every one of them through all time; ”He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches.” In other words we were never to stop hearing from the Lord until the end of time. It doesn’t matter if people come up with doctrines to match their spiritually dead lives. God still speaks and if we will practice hearing from Him, our ears will be tuned better and better to His voice as time goes by. If the Holy Spirit was not helping me with my daily writing, I would have quit in exhaustion a long time ago.

Through
my writing over time you can see how gently the Holy Spirit guides us into all
truth. He corrects our misunderstandings. He increases our humility. He takes
away our dogmatic spirit and yet gives us a passion for truth and
understanding. He pulls us back from our rabbit trails and teaches us in the process
to hear His voice. If we continue on with Him, He will bring us into maturity
and into oneness with His Word and with His Spirit. I pray that we will all
grow together until we meet Him face to face.
