THE HOT PASSION OF HIS LOVE
THE HOT PASSION OF HIS LOVE
When we
first begin our study of Bible prophecy we come with the same curiosity by
which the world seeks its prognosticators, its seers and its crystal ball
gazers. Everyone wants to know the future and most are not too particular about
where they get their information.
So, for
those who are fortunate enough to hit upon the Bible, they get into charts and
graphs eagerly seeking a peek into future events, but in time we discover that
BIBLE PROPHECY IS NOT SO MUCH ABOUT EVENTS AS IT IS ABOUT A PERSON. In time we
discover the hot blooded passion of One who loves us and desires to become a
vital part of our lives. He is not merely giving us information. He is calling
us to Himself… He is knocking at the door… He is breaking down walls and veils
to get to us. He wants, not only to reveal the future to us, but to share the future
with us.
There
comes a point in Bible Prophecy where we can no longer remain objective.
Prophecy is a Person. It is a revelation of Jesus Christ, Yeshua the returning
Messiah. So the passion that we originally had for events has turned into a
passion for the King. After all, He is taking us into His confidence. He is
sharing His agenda with us. He is sharing with us things that the world doesn’t
know and refuses to know. We are being called into His inner circle.
It’s
all about Yeshua bringing Satan’s 6000 year reign to an end and replacing it
with a 1000 year Messianic kingdom of peace and rest under the reign of Yeshua
our Creator and Savior. It will be a time of intense training for sure. We have
to learn the ways of eternity. Learning to reign with Yeshua is also learning
to become one with Him, even as He and His Father are one.
Bible
prophecy then is all about the Bridegroom coming and kicking butt and restoring
this earth to original intention and the Bride to her eternal home with the King.
It is going to be a rough transfer of powers as the world resists a new King. The
harvest, though violent must also carefully separate the wheat from the tares.
We are being called out of the world system. We need to hear His voice and come
out quickly.
Why
does the Christian world seem so bent on ignoring Bible prophecy? After all, it
tells us how one age of evil is going to come to a climactic end to be replaced
by the kingdom of Messiah. What’s not to like?
Me
thinks that after so long a time, much of the church has developed an agenda of
its own. Nowadays their security and safety depend upon their own agenda rather
than upon a His. They have worked out a cozy arrangement where they can have the
world and Jesus too. Much of Christianity is devolving into a cross-less,
non-repenting way of life in which we become members rather than disciples.
They
don’t like the idea that our faith may be tested, our present securities taken
away, our routines disturbed, our plans altered. Like the Shulamite woman in the
Song of Solomon, they want the King to come to their chamber… to enter their
plans, to support their agendas and bless their circumstances. All is well as
long as He leads them to a place of their choosing.
Instead
Yeshua warns us that the world system is collapsing and headed for destruction.
He is calling us out of Babylon with its false gods and its self- worshipping
ways. He is showing us His agenda and inviting us to share in it with Him. He
is calling us out of the chamber to climb on the mountains and to leap over the
hills. (Song of Songs 2:8-10) The secret place of the Most High is not only in the
enclosed chamber of love, but in the steeps and rocky crags. We carry it with
us as we learn to find shelter in the cleft of the Rock.
We are
being called out of our agenda to become a part of His. It will lead us into
scary places where we will have to place our full faith in Him. Being a
disciple is not a place of safety as the world defines safety. But it is
nevertheless the safest place we can be. The King has not only our present
circumstances in mind, but His eternal vision for us. He wants His Bride not
only to “get saved” but to reign with Him as kings and priests unto our God.
You
might say in human terms that God doesn’t love us for our body only. He loves
us for our soul and our spirit as well and He wants to preserve us complete,
spirit, soul and body without blame at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
(1Thess. 5:23, 24.)
So yes,
Bible prophecy is more than a series of events in the future. It is centered
upon a Person, who in His hot passion is pursuing us to be His Bride.
