WEIGHED IN THE BALANCES
WEIGHED IN THE BALANCES
There are
two opposing concepts between the prophets in the church today. One group
prophesies of peace and prosperity, of a great America, a dollar stronger than
ever as the wealth of the nations comes into the church and a huge harvest of
souls fills stadiums with eager crowds. They picture the church as gaining
control over the high places of the earth, of governments, of education, of
entertainment, of the media and so on as the church marches on to victory. They
then picture a massive rapture of the church before tribulation arrives as the entire
church is swept away to heaven.
There
is another, smaller group of prophets that say we are on the brink of the great
tribulation… that America will fall because of her many sins, the economy will
collapse, the dollar will become worthless and America will become embroiled in
war and invasion on our own soil. They pay heed to the fact that for this
moment we are in support of Israel, but also believe that as the bible says,
every nation will come against Jerusalem in the end perhaps including our own.
This
group of prophets sees Trump as having provided a momentary gap before judgment,
a time to repent and to turn from our wicked ways. And since America has shown
no signs of real repentance, we are going to enter into the tribulation. It
will come suddenly and most will not be ready for it. The harvest of souls will
come in but amidst blood and fire and columns of smoke and perhaps only a
remnant will be saved and not the billions that the other prophets envision.
There
is a call to return to holiness and righteousness and to live by the spirit and
not by the flesh. If we are to do the works of Christ and even greater works,
then we must also be like Him in character.
In
truth, we find ourselves in the same situation as Jeremiah. The vast majority
of the prophets in his day were advising Israel to fight against the king of
Babylon and that God would be with them. But listen to the word of the Lord
concerning this matter as it is recorded in Jeremiah 23: 16-22
“Thus
says the Lord of hosts. Do not listen to the words of the prophets who are prophesying
to you. They are leading you into futility. They speak a vision of their own
imagination, not from the mouth of the Lord. They keep saying to those who
despise Me,”The Lord has said, you will have peace.” And as for everyone who walks in the stubbornness of
his own heart. They say, “Calamity will not come upon you.” But who has stood in the council of the Lord
that he should see and hear His word? Who has given heed to His word and
listened? Behold the storm of the Lord has gone forth in wrath, even a whirling
tempest; It will swirl down on the head of the wicked. The anger of the Lord
will not turn back until He has performed and carried out the purposes of His
heart; IN THE LAST DAYS YOU WILL CLEARLY UNDERSTAND IT. I did not send these prophets, but they ran.
I did not speak to them, but they prophesied. But if they had stood in My
council then they would have announced My words to My people, and would have
turned them back from their evil way and from the evil of their deeds.”
I
believe that what the Lord is saying to us today is that we have camped around
Sinai long enough. Instead of building tents in the wilderness, we built
houses. We are no longer ready to follow the cloud. We have adjusted to wilderness
life being satisfied to repeat the same rituals over and over again as if they
have no forward motion, no future goal. And to make sure that we can maintain
our comfort here we have abandoned the study of Bible prophecy by which we could
remain in step with God’s last day agenda.
But the
cloud is moving and those who do not move with it will die in the wilderness. Do
not forget that Israel came within sight of the Promised Land, and yet for lack
of faith, they turned back and that entire generation died in the wilderness. To
our generation has been given the mandate to cross over. Every sign and signal
is in place. The fullness of time has come. But this time God’s prophetic
program will be fulfilled whether we are ready or not. This time it will come
and will not tarry.
All of the
things that happened to Israel happened to them as an example and they were
written for our instruction upon whom the ends of the ages have come. 1 Cor.
10:11
If we
are to take part in God’s final harvest then we must move with the cloud, for
as it says in Hebrews 12:18-24: “For you have not come to a mountain that may
be touched and to a blazing fire and to darkness and gloom and whirlwind and to
the blast of a trumpet and the sound of words which sound was such that those
who heard begged that no further word should be spoken to them. For they could
not bear the command, “If even a beast touches the mountain it will be stoned. And
so terrible was the sight that Moses said, “I am full of fear and trembling.”
“But
you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem
and to myriads of angels, to the general assembly and church of the first born
who are enrolled in heaven and to God the judge of all and to the spirits of
righteous men made perfect, and to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant and to the
sprinkled blood which speaks better than the blood of Abel.”
The cloud
is moving… and following 2000 paces behind our High Priest we are getting ready
to cross Jordon. It is at flood stage. From now on only that which is done by
His Spirit will suffice. We are moving into new territory and we have never
passed this way before.
The
manna of the wilderness is about to stop falling and we must begin to live by the
powers of the age to come. We must feed upon the produce of the Promised Land.
In this final crossing all that remains of the flesh must be left behind so that
we can do the works of Christ and even greater works. The harvest will come in,
but it will come in amidst blood and fire and pillars of smoke.
God has
blessed us with peace and prosperity, but we used it for our own pleasure and
not for His. Now He will purify us like gold tried in the fire so that we can
become vessels for honor.
I am
not a prophet of course, but I see more validity in the message of those who
speak of tribulation and judgment. The Bible says that when they are saying “Peace
and Safety” then will come sudden destruction and given the fact that the global
kingdom of the antichrist is about to rise and a thousand other prophecies are
fitting into place, I believe that we are on the verge of unprecedented change
and once the New World Order has broken through this current roadblock, they
are going to come in with a vengeance such as we have never seen before.
I believe that all that the Bible says about the
last days is about to break upon us and many are not ready. But God is not
going to purify His Bride by extending her times of ease and prosperity. Instead
He is going to bring on a time of trouble such as the world has not seen since
there was a nation. And while His people are not destined for wrath, they will
see tribulation. There will be a great falling away and a great shaking so that
everything that is not of God will be shaken out. See 2 Thess. 2:4 and Hebrews
12:26-29.
This is
not a time to be frightened. It is a time to allow God to do in us all that He
has promised to do. And right now He is calling us out of the wilderness and
into a living and powerful relationship with Him. Moses can lead us out of
Egypt, but only Jesus can get us into the Promised Land. We must learn to live
by His Spirit.
We need
to stop thinking in terms of positive or negative attitudes. What we now need
desperately is the truth. We are in the middle of a giant spiritual war and it
is breaking out into the physical world. We can no longer remain undecided as
to which side we will be on. On the battlefield complacency goes out the window
and life looks entirely different from a foxhole. When last day events suddenly
hit the fan, our perspectives will change dramatically and we will be looking
for answers from those who told the truth rather than those who lied to us.
