A NOTE OF EXPLANATION
A NOTE OF EXPLANATION
When I
mention Pentecostals as I did in this last article, I am not bragging on a
certain denomination as such. What I am saying is that the Day of Pentecost is the
day on which the Church was conceived and the New Covenant initiated as Jesus,
our New High Priest (after the order of Melchizedek) poured out His Spirit upon
His followers. To ignore Pentecost then is to ignore the entire New Covenant,
the New High Priesthood of Jesus and the priesthood of believers.
To ignore
Pentecost is to ignore the power source of the New Covenant as well as the source
of Agape love that those who will overcome must attain. To love with Agape
loves is the new commandment that our High Priest has given to us and Agape
love fulfills the Old Covenant completely. Love is the fulfillment of the Law and
we enter into His rest when we come to know Christ in us as our hope of glory.
2 Cor. 4:7, Col. 1:27, 28, Eph. 4:13, Eph. 4:23, 24, 30
Everything
that we must attain in this life is produced in us by the Holy Spirit… not by
the works of our flesh. Therefore we must spend time before the throne crying
out for that which He alone can give. We must be washed by the Word and cleansed
by the blood and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
As
Christians we tend to spend too much time arguing over things that do not
pertain to salvation or add a single watt of power to our lives… nor do these
arguments produce Agape love in us. So when we talk about maturity we are
talking about learning how to live by the
Spirit and to love with the God kind of love and that means getting involved
with people… people in need… the same kind of people that Jesus chose to
minister to.
Far too
often we tend to sit in the seats of the Pharisees, rather than in the highways
and byways of the disciples and we live in smug superiority because we have “The
Truth.” When in fact “the TRUTH” is out there healing the sick and casting out
demons and teaching the people and getting its hands dirty with the needs of
sinners.
Pentecostals,
like all other needy and desperate Christians, are crying out for more… for the
real thing… for a revival of Holy Spirit power in our midst… distancing
ourselves from the smoke and mirrors of a church going astray… we hunger for
the real presence and power of Jesus. We need a revival of that which God
poured out on the day of Pentecost if we are to bring in the harvest in these
last days.
Today the
actual power of the New Birth and the New Covenant are being traded in for
unity under the global government and religion of the beast. We are selling our
birthright for a pot of beans and even as we do, we are gravitating back towards
the Law which came before Christ… back to Judaism…back to days and weeks and
rules about food and drink. We are trading our living reality and our living
Savior for types and shadows even as we contribute to the temple that is being
built foe “the Messiah.”
But
bear this in mind: Since they reject Jesus as Messiah, then we have to ask who
their messiah will be and Matthew 24:15 tells us and Revelation chapter 13
tells us… but today the church has very little stomach for the prophecies that could
guide them away from these grand delusions and deceptions. We need the Holy
Spirit and the Word like never before and we surely must begin to understand
the difference between Old and New Covenants and which one we are in now.
Jesus came
to earth and died to bring us this new covenant and this new priesthood. Should
we not bend every effort to find out how to fully enter into it and to walk in
it and to minister by its power?
The church
is full of false prophets today, prophesying peace and safety and clear sailing
ahead, even as they fail to identify our sins and call us to righteousness. They
have become prophets of the church rather than prophets of God. But the church
today is largely a house of cards and so we must pray like never before, because
there is a great falling away taking place and we don’t want to be a part of
it.
