THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THE WORD

                WHENEVER PEOPLE HONOR THE WORD OF GOD, THEY WILL BE ATTENDED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD.        “The Lord watches over His word to perform it. Jer. 1:12

                In our day and age too many Christians have detached the Spirit of God from the Word of God. They go after the good feelings, the signs and wonders and miracles and all the while, they spend little time in the Word. And because of this other spirits, other powers are beginning to infiltrate the church.

                There has never been a more critical time for the church than right now, for even as we think that everything is right and good, Satan, posing as an angel of light is infiltrating large parts of the church with occult practices. Many of these practices, once identified as the New Age movement, have now made it into the church and few people understand that these occult practices the Bible calls “sorcery” are based upon the Kabbalah.

                Kabbalah historically came  back with Israel from Babylonian captivity and was very prevalent in Jerusalem during Jesus’ time and He regularly told these Jewish leaders that they were of their Father the devil, that they made void the word of God by their traditions, that they worshipped God in vain, teaching as doctrine the commandments of men. Jesus was, in fact, combatting Cabalistic traditions.

                We need to understand that Jesus was not putting down traditional Judaism which had come to them through Moses. He was battling the distortions of the Word and the sorcery that was Cabbalism.

                Even to this day Kabbalists seek to find the hidden meanings behind Scripture by using “Gematria. (numerology)  This method also called “Sod” involves a transformation of one’s consciousness through mystical meditation and breathing exercises and repetition of the divine name. The divine name that they primarily use to ascend the Kabbalah Sefirot tree ( The tree of Knowledge) t)  is the angel Metatron. Metatron is a fallen angel that empowers them in their ascension into the knowledge that Lucifer offered in Eden. The also worship the “sacred serpent”  from the tree of knowledge. Do you really want to go there?

                As I mentioned before, they worship a god called Ein Sof and though it has long been hidden, the Kabbalists now say that the time of uncovering, of revelation,  has come. It is time to reveal that their god is Lucifer. In their own Sefirot tree with its 9 levels of mystical attainment it is stated that Ein Sof was the creator of Elohim. (The Creator God of the Biblical fame.) Every truth of the Word is twisted to make Lucifer to appear as superior to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and to denounce Jesus Christ as being a divine Messiah, God in human flesh.        

                Now all of this sounds strange and weird and you may be thinking to yourself that you would never fall for any of that, but the truth is the Jewish Roots movement that thousands of churches are flocking to today is leading them directly into many aspects of Cabbalism… especially since Cabbalism has overtaken Israel and has become the official religion of Judaism today. Many Christians are not sorting out the difference between True Old Testament teaching from the poison of Cabbalism and so many are falling away from the faith.

                A surprising number of Christians are actually rejecting Jesus and going back to Judaism as a more authentic Word of God. This they do unknowingly preparing for the institution of Noahide Law in which Christianity is identified as idolatry and punishable by death.

                As I have stated earlier, even Pope Francis has made himself (and therefore all of Christianity) subservient to Cabbalism stating that it is indeed the true religion of the world. And since many Evangelical leaders have gone back to Rome to subject themselves to the authority of the Pope, they are now also subjected to the coming global religion of the beast… Cabbalism.

                So it becomes increasingly important for Christians to understand and realize that God watches over His Word to perform it. He is not out there just giving chilly bumps to thrill seekers. He is honoring the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost and that outpouring, called the Baptism of the Holy Spirit was given to us for power to witness and to continue on the work that Jesus started in the world.

                Yesterday we went out to the small mountain town of Petros. It is a small and poor community that is almost literally ruled by drugs and everything that goes with it, in terms of broken homes and crime and all the rest. We had arranged with the town to close off Main Street and to have an outdoor worship fest and prayer over the town. We have a small mission there called “The Rock” mission in which we invite the children and teenagers to come in for Bible teaching, and fellowship and food. In doing this we are hoping to plants seeds for a new future for Petros and of course it is an uphill battle.

                Abishai, lives in Petros and he visits the mission regularly and is known by all the kids and people in town and he organized this event to which many of our church people came. The town police came and blocked off the street with cones and flashing police car lights and they joined us in enjoying the food and drinks that we served and hanging around for the music that our worship team played..

                It was a very small crowd, but no matter. We were there to stake a claim over this town for Jesus. The many prayers were very powerful and so the prevailing spirits that control the town were put on notice. This event had been planned weeks in advance and wouldn’t you know it, when our week came the weather called for wall to wall rain for the whole week. Abishai fervently prayed that God would part the clouds and to give us at least 4 hours for our outdoor festival. Well, that morning it poured down rain in buckets. It was still raining when I drove out to Petros to Abishai’s house. But shortly before we loaded the sound system onto our pickups the rain stopped. The sky cleared and the sun began to shine. Long story short… There was not a single drop of rain from 2 pm until 7:30 pm, so that after the meeting was completely over and the people had gone home, black clouds once again darkened the sky and the rain commenced its downpour. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

                But this is what the Baptism of the Holy Spirit was given for… not for the parlor tricks or feel good messages such as we often see on TV or preaching prosperity to a nation already spoiled by prosperity.  The Holy Spirit is given to witness of Jesus Christ and to break the strongholds of Satan over people’s lives and towns.

                During a break in the music an old man signaled me over to talk to him. He had tears in his eyes and he admitted that he is backslidden from the Lord and so I prayed a short prayer with Him that the Lord would send His Holy Spirit to breathe life into this man once again. He thanked me and then reached into his pocket and handed me the only thing he had… his pocket knife. Of course I didn’t want to take it and he probably needs that pocket knife much more than I do, but he insisted and so I took it realizing that when the Lord touches someone their response is to give something back to God. In fact the man said that he could see the presence of God upon us as we sang. I pray that these revelations will continue to change his life and to draw him ever closer to the Lord.

                God watches over His Word to perform it and wherever Jesus Christ is honored and His Word is honored, there the Lord will be. His Holy Spirit will empower us for ministry… and He might even stop the rain when needed.
