TARES AMONG THE WHEAT
TARES AMONG THE WHEAT
The
subject of wheat and tares is becoming more prominent in our thinking simply
because the time of the harvest is approaching and we are told 3 important
things in Mt. 13:30:
1.
The wheat and the tares will grow together until
the harvest
2.
The tares will be gathered up first and bundled
to be burned.
3.
Then the wheat will be gathered into the Lord’s
barn.
What
this tells us is that the harvest will be a time of separation, or perhaps the
separation will begin to take place shortly before the harvest.
I think
it will be important to gain some sort of understanding about the kinds of doctrines
that will separate us from one another in these last days. I don’t think we are
talking about the minor variations that divide denominations. I think it is
more than that. I think that we are talking about the foundations of the Christian
faith, as compared with doctrines of demons which are said to come into the church
in the last days. In 1 Tim 4:1 Paul
warned us saying:
“But
the Spirit explicitly says that in latter times some will fall away from
the faith paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons… “Then
Paul goes on to list some of those false doctrines such as forbidding marriage
or abstaining from certain foods. Here Paul was most likely combatting Gnosticism
and other strange doctrines that
eventually led to Catholicism, but for our purposes today, we need to mention
at least a couple of false doctrines that are leading many in today’s church
astray.
One of
my prophetic heroes is a soft spoken prophet from Australia, Neville Johnson
whom I believe to have the true gift of prophecy. He walks and talks with God,
often having face to face encounters with Jesus and to me his messages are
profound and highly important for our times. He has just started a new series
of weekly 30 minute message dealing with the issues of our time and if possible
I will share the link with you here: https://www.youtube.com/c/theacademyoflight
In one
of his recent posts he warned of two doctrines of demons that have made their
way into the church in recent times:
1.
Hyper grace
2.
A millennialism
Hyper grace
we have talked about at some length. It sort of bypasses everything that the Bible
has to say about spiritual growth, obedience, repentance, living a Christian
life, growing in the Word or being conformed into the image of Christ and it
simply waves such things off as says that it doesn’t matter. All of our sins
past, present and future are covered, we don’t need to repent. We don’t need to
confess our sins to God… Just live life as you see it and God understands and
picks up the tab in the end.
It
teaches that everyone will probably be saved in the end and that everyone
basically follows their own path to heaven. They are moving toward a
declaration that there is no hell and that god will save everybody.
People
who were once accountable to God are mow flocking to these mega churches where
they are promised peace and prosperity and abundant grace because God is good
all the time and all the time God is good. (A sentence that is absolutely true,
as long as you maintain a biblical definition of what is good… but if you mean
by that that God will never judge the world, or hold us accountable for our
choices then it is absolutely untrue.
The
second doctrine of demons is one called a millennialism. According to Neville,
it has infiltrated main stream denominations a long time ago but now it is even
making inroads into the Charismatic and Pentecostal circles.
Neville didn’t give a reason why spirit filled groups are
drifting in that direction, but as soon as he said it, I knew why. A
millennialism is a Catholic doctrine and since many denominations and
non-denominations are going back to the pope to form the global religion of the
Beast, they are also embracing this doctrine.
So,
what is a millennialism, you might ask? It is the teaching that there is no
literal millennial reign of Christ upon the earth. Rather the church will
slowly get its act together and fill the whole world and when the church has
finally subdued the whole world, and then they will turn it back to Jesus.
It
sounds good, but this was the doctrine that generated over a thousand years of despotic
government known as the Dark Ages.
Mankind will never restore this world to what it was before the fall and
the Catholic Church proved it during the Dark Ages. They tried to enforce the kingdom
of Christ by human means and ended up burning thousands of people at the stake,
torturing and imprisoning thousands in inquisition like tribunals. In short
they killed around 60 million people and yet the world was in no better
condition than it had been before they started, in fact it was worse.
No,
this is why Jesus must come and reign as King of kings and Lord of lords, for
he alone can restore all things and bring in a kingdom in which there is no
more sorrow, no tears, no sickness or death, no crying and no unrighteousness
and yet it will all be done by the power of love and justice and truth. Man
will be restored to the image of God and as such, peace and joy will reign
supreme forever.
These are
just two of many doctrines that are infiltrating the church right now in order
to divert us from the great revival and harvest that God is soon to bring. We
need to be mindful of these things and ask God for wisdom to navigate these
last days, being led by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.
“God is
Spirit and those that worship Him must worship in Spirit and in truth. “ John
4:24
