REVISITING THE THRESHING FLOOR
REVISITING THE THRESHING FLOOR
Someone
commented that the story of Ruth was a story of prostitution in which Naomi
instructed Ruth to go to the threshing floor to tempt Boaz while he was drunk
to get her pregnant so he would have to take her in.
I find
such an interpretation abhorrent and Satanic at best. It is made by someone who
clearly doesn’t understand the symbolism of scripture or show reverence for
what God is saying to us...
The threshing
floor may be a place of rejoicing in the harvest, but it is most commonly
referred to as a place of judgment and of purging and threshing so that wheat
and tares may be separated and grain may be separated from its husks and chaff.
There
will however by two women at the judgment of the great tribulation. One of
these women will be the whore of Babylon who will seek to rule the world and to
persecute all who will not follow her. And yes she will seek to seduce people
into drinking the wine of her fornication and the kings of the earth will
wonder after her and use her to bring about global unity. This woman is
identified and described in Revelation chapter 17.
But on
that same threshing floor will be another woman… the Bride of Christ. She will
be a chaste virgin and not a seductress. Like Ruth, she will not consort with
all of the other younger men who would gladly have slept with her, but she will
cling only to her Kinsman Redeemer.
This is
the great separation that is going on now and will continue to increase in
frequency and intensity as we near the end.
And by the
way, Boaz did not have relations with Ruth that night. He first took her to a
closer relative to offer him the right of redemption. He refused that right and
so Boaz took Ruth for his wife and through their marriage came the lineage of
King David and the Messiah.
One of the
greatest forms of spiritual prostitution in the world today is that of using the
devil to interpret Scripture for you instead of the Holy Spirit. It is being
done far too often and because of it the church is being flooded with the seduction
of false doctrine, false grace and a false sense of security.
It is
shocking to see supposed men of God beating a pathway to Rome to kiss the ring
of a man who is empowered by Satan and full of blasphemy. Even the Catholics know
better and they are fleeing the Vatican in droves right now. Rome is falling
from the weight of her own sins and God’s people are coming out of it.
We have
a choice to make as to which woman we will follow. One is a seductress that
entices you with false doctrine and the ways of the flesh, while the other is the
virgin Bride of Christ.
“And the
Spirit and the Bride say “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let
the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life
without cost. Amen! Come Lord Jesus.” Rev. 22:17, 20b
