THE WAKE UP CALL

THE WAKE UP CALL

“I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your works; I muse on the work of Your hands. I spread out my hands to You; My soul longs for You like a thirsty land… Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You.” Ps. 143:5, 6, 8,

I was planning to sleep in this morning because I had gone to bed a little later than usual last night. So I said in my heart, “I will sleep in tomorrow… but I had a dream this morning that woke me up. An unnamed person in the dream told me it was time to wake up for the presence of the Lord was here. It was 3:00 AM and the appointed time had come.

The Lord never slumbers or sleeps and I think sometimes in the wee hours of morning He just wants someone to talk to. Here I am Lord. Speak to me and I will listen. Whisper my name in the corridors of the cosmos and draw my heart out to You in the silence of the rain. Ride speedily upon your wild horses. Ride before the thunder of your Father’s voice. Cry out against injustice, for surely your widows and orphans huddle in the cold night and pray to You for food.

Shout aloud with the voice of triumph to those who sleep on the watch. Rally the troops… gather the lame and the poor and declare strength unto them. Rule over men and nations with the strong arm of your foreknowledge. Guide the steps of the uncertain. Honor those who seek you in the morning. Grant boldness to the faint of heart. Guide the leaders of nations into the paths of Your choosing. Cause the rebellious to fulfil your Word.

“Lord, what is man, that You take knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that You are mindful of him? Man is like a breath; His days are like a passing shadow. Bow down Your heavens, O Lord and come down. Touch the mountains and they shall smoke. Flash forth lightening and scatter them; shoot your arrows and destroy them. Stretch out Your hand from above; Rescue me and deliver me out of the great waters…” Psalm144: 3-7

In the still of the Morning I will seek Thee O my God and in the silence of my heart I will listen for Your voice.

I had planned to sleep in this morning, but the Lord woke me up with a dream and He did so for no particular reason, but to draw me close. It was well worth it.
