MORE THAN CONQUERORS

MORE THAN CONQUERORS

It is a mind blowing thing that Paul says in Romans 8 about all of creation waiting for the revealing of the sons of God. This implies a restoration of the authority, dominion and stewardship that Adam had before the fall.

But this time it will be even greater than at first, for Jesus Christ Himself will be the new Adam and He will reign as King of kings and Lord of lords. What we sometimes forget is that we are the kings and Lords over whom Jesus will reign. This then is a major theme of the gospel of the Kingdom. It is a restoration of the kingdom to mankind through Jesus Christ.

So when we preach a gospel that implies that we are just poor dumb sinners saved by grace… we leave out the fact that we are in training to reign and as such we have been called by faith to learn how to live by the Spirit in such a way that we regain authority, dominion and stewardship over those things which God has given to us. We owe Him stewardship over our bodies and minds, as we bring them under subjection to His Spirit. We have been given authority over demons and we are not to allow sin to have dominion over us.

We are sons and daughters in training. We are nobility… heirs of the kingdom through Jesus Christ. Our lives then should be superior in every way to this fallen world system. Everyone who is being led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. Romans 8:14

“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body…. Whether then you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Cor.6:19, 10:31

We are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. 2 Cor. 10:5b

“I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their God and they shall be My people. Therefore, come out from among their midst and be separate.” says the Lord. “And do not touch what is unclean; and I will welcome you and I will be a Father to you and you shall be sons and daughters to Me says the Lord almighty.” 2 Cor. 6:16b-18

We are being called to something magnificent and yet most of the church is settling for the mediocre, the mundane and the lukewarm. It is time for the sons of God to stand and to be revealed. It is time to wake up.
